Default Ring culture

Hi I'm thinking of trying something different with my tomatoes this year. So I've been reading about ring culture and the pro's and con's by using this method of growing tomatoes.
I'm just wondering what your views are on this.

Thanks.

Tazzie

Just want to add that when you cut out the bottom of a pot you are left with a 'ring'. (I had to look that up ) (Wikipedia says the plant will develop two types of root systems: One for picking up nutrients in the soil, and a second for picking up water).

I achieved much better results using ring culture last year. I wouldn't do it any other way now. Also when planting, I plant them in the bottom of the ring so that they are a few inches deeper than when in the original pots. The plants will then produce additional roots up the stem and give healthier plants.
