onion advice

I put onion sets in about a month ago. From what I've read, the leaves are supposed to stay pretty much upright until they're ready at which point they'll turn yellow and fall over.
The leaves on mine grew really quickly and fell over within about 2 weeks of planting. The leaves are green and the onions obviously aren't ready yet - the leaves are just really long (the longest ones are over 40cm) and have obviously can't take the weight. Is this normal/healthy?

Any help is gratefully received.

As far as I'm aware, it's ok. Mine have done that as well - due to the wind, but they're still healthy and green. From what I've read the stalks quite often fall over due to weight or wind, but it's ok as long as they stay nice and green.
