Default 2011 Allotment piccis - and lots of them!

Hey all,

Just thought I would share a few pics (well i say a 'few' ) with you all of our allotment this year.

Any tips / pointers would be great.

Cheers, Alex

p.s. toms look a little yellow due to no food yet...will be fed asap.

Very nice and looking much more advanced than my plot, I too would love to have mains water and rely on a water butt which has been empty a couple of times already this year. Your tree fern looks very healthy most have been struggling to recover after the hard winter.

Lovely to see the photos, thanks.

But why so many tomato plants? Unless you give toms away to friends?

Ali.

Thanks very much everyone for the nice replies. Sorry its taken me soo long to get back to you all.

Regarding the hosepipe, its very low pressure so we have 4 water butts (300l, 200l, 150l,100l) and we fill those up which takes for ever!!! and then water with watering cans. During the hot summer days we use the whole 750L every 2/3 days.

The toms have now had some food and are recovering BIG TIME and starting to look like tom plants again You can see in the pic below.
and yeah we do have a lot of them haha but we dont half get through them.

anyway...some update pics below...

Tom plants, now fed and starting to recover

Aubergines outside

Aubergines in the greenhouse (you can see how much better they do)

Harvested this garlic 3 days ago. Planted in november

Already picked about 500 raspberries and more to come

Some blueberries just about to become ripe

Fruit Cage

Some cucmbers and ghirkins that had a ruff start due to me putting them out too early. These are the survivors and seem to be doing well now

Sweetcorn growing leaps and bounds

Out door chillis

Greenhouse Chillis (much better than outdoors, same as the melons, aubergines)

Melons

Hi, I've tried growing Aubergines in a polly tunnel with very little success. Whats the secret? I know they love the heat and don't mind being dry, is it the fact that the polly tunnel cuts out too much light perhaps?
