Question harvesting potatoes from patio bag

Hi all
I have potaotes in a patio bag. The plants have died back and I'm not sure what to do next. I have visitors in two weeks and would like to use the potatoes then but how d I keep them until then?

Do I leave them in the bag in the compost at the risk of rain making them wet and soggy?

Or do I dig them out and try to store them for twoo weeks? If so how do I go about this?

Thanks
Donna

When the potatoes die back they are ready to be dug up. Just empty or dig out the potatoes and put them in a dark paper bag - if you keep them in the light they will go green.

I always buy big bags of potatoes and they are sold in think paper bags - that's what I mean.

They will keep for ages - but don't wash them as then they won't keep.

Thanks, I'll do that today, I've got a hessian sack so I'll use that and put them under the stairs in the dark.

Well i got 1.8kg (4lbs) of spuds from my 5 seed potatoes, I'm really pleased with my first effort. Had some for dinner tonight and keeping the rest for my visitors in a couple of weeks if I can.
