Default Giant Carrots

Has anyone else tried growing specimen/giant carrots?

I've seen a few videos and web sites showing how people use long plastic tubes to grow their carrots in, so I'm giving it a try.

Just wondered if anybody else has tried this and what the results where?

This looks very interesting! It would illiminate the carrot fly problem. I've grown carrots in pots this year and got excellent results so I'm sure it will work!

Default Hope it works !

Looks like it takes up a lot of space for six carrots, I have seen them grown in tubes of sand for those longest carrot competitions, I just dig sand into the soil to break it up and improve the drainage and try not to thin them too much, it seems to work well,
