Default rotation question

Hi!!

I am planning my veg garden for next year and had a very clean sheet of paper in front of me but almost there: I do want to have a pergola a bit separate from the rest of the veg. But the veg I would like to grow on there are only squash and beans.

If I rotate between the two would that suffice? Or should I follow them in spring with short cropping root vegetables such as summer radishes for example?

Any tips would be very appreciated

Thanks

it's not ideal but it should work unless you get an infestation of something which takes more than a season to get rid of.

For commercial growers there are sound reasons for rotation but on the scale that most of us work it's not something to get hung up on. With square foot gardening for instance it's completely pointless. I do practice a basic crop rotation but always have at least one bed which is block planted with all sorts of veg. growing together.
