Chesters Walled Garden Tour

On Saturday you have the opportunity to take a guided tour around Chesters Walled Garden. It is a two acre, 18th century garden near Hadrian's Wall and it boasts one of the largest collections of herbs in the country. The National Thyme Collection which grows on a 30 metre raised bank is at it's best in June and July when it resembles a brightly coloured carpet. There are Mediterranean borders filled with rosemary and sage, plus the National Collection of Marjoram and a Roman garden filled with the herbs that were used in Roman times.
