Default Bakewell Show

The Bakewell Show is being held on Wednesday 1st and Thursday 2nd August.

It is a horticultural and agricultural show and looking at the programme of events there seems to be something for all the family including a qualifier for The Horse Of The Year Show.

Best of all is the unusual shaped vegetable show on Wednesday 1st. There is prize money!! 1st - £50, 2nd - £30, 3rd - £20.

Show gates are open 8.30 am until 6.30 pm.
Adults - £10
Children - £8 (7 - 15)

Hi Lesley, are you from Bakewell? My brother was head boy at Lady Manners and I went to Matlock. My friend's mother had the Blue Parrot cafe, my other friend used to live in the house with the false portcullis next to the church. This is of course many years ago but I still have happy memories of Bakewell and indeed all of Derbyshire. Enjoy your day wish I could be ther5e.

No I'm not from Bakewell but I wish I lived in the area. Our house is named after one of the local villages, which is totally useless information!! We are house hunting at the moment and must check out the property there.

The Bakewell pudding shop holds happy memories for me working there during the holidays and piling on the pounds as well as earning them. Their puddings are the best and I've never even seen anything similar elsewhere. Yummy.
