Hi everyone
Well spent a lovely afternoon wandering round the Gateshead Flower Show, him in doors didnt want to go so went by myself, which was good really cos I got to spend more than I should have and bought some lovely new plants for the garden, (like I really need them - but they look great when they flower). There wer a lot of great stalls and some fabulous demonstrations, unfortunately because of the poor weather conditions we have had this year the veg section wasnt as good as it should have been. I did get talking to some of the growers and was told that everyone is having a bad year this year. Cauliflowers in particular have performed badly which has afforded me some relief since its the first time growing them and they have not been good. My favourite bit was the cut flower demonstrations, although I prefer to see the flowers in the garden, some of the demonstrators are so talented it really blows you away what they can do with their products. Also very beautiful this year seems to be the fuschias and the gladiolas which are a personal favourite for me, jusat call me dame Edna!!!!! I am really pleased that I went and will definately go next year and will aspire to some of the veg growers there.Lol. thanks for listening to my rambling.x ![]() |
