Marmalade Festival
The 2008 Marmalade Festival is held this week at Dalemain Historic House And Gardens, Dalemain, Penrith, Cumbria on 7th - 10th February.
Thursday 7th - RHS lecture 'Totally Tropical' by Sue Hoy. - 10am - Tickets £10. Friday 8th - The Dalemain gardens are open. 10am - 4pm. Entrance - £2. Sunday 10th - Marmalade Festival Day. 10am - 4pm. Entrance £3. Winners of the marmalade competition and Paddington's marmalade sandwich competition will be announced. There are various events including cookery demonstrations, marmalade tastings and the world's most expensive jar of marmalade will be there - although at £5000 for the jar I doubt it will be open for tastings!! All proceeds from the festival go to the charity Hopice At Home, Carlisle and North Lakeland.
