Tony G is on a distinguished road
Default Hi Folks

Greetings to one and all.

Just getting into my Veg gardening as an adult. Used to grow veg a long time ago with my mum when we lived in Scotland and never took much interest.

But now being in my late 30's I have found the enjoyment of growing my own.

It started lat year with a few spuds, that even by my standards I must say I was pleased with. Thats more than can be said about the leeks and cabbage that I grew along side them. They turned out rather poor in size and quality.

I only have a 4ft x 30 strip in the back garden but it's a start. This year was Spuds again, Cabbage (eaten by pests again this year) Carrots grown in two old plastic dustbins cut in half (rather pleased with them) Garlic, Strawberrys again eaten by slugs no matter what I done I just ould not get rid of them, Black currant bushes x 2 no fruit as yet and tomatoes grown both in a homemade tomato house and outside in a tub.

Looking to get an allotment sometime soon, and start growing more and more.

Hi there Tony and welcome to our forum!!

You've had a really good growing season this year. Strawberries can be grown in hanging baskets which would make it harder for the slugs to get at them. Last year was poor for alot of people due to all that rain - all my vegetable plants were drowned!
