Greetings to fellow gardeners in the UK and worldwide. I'm Husker from sw Iowa USA, close to the Missouri river. I love to garden, mostly vegetables but also a few flowers to attract bees and hummingbirds. I plant heirloom varieties for the most part. They may not have the disease and insect resistance of the newer varieties but I think they taste great. I grow beans, peas, melons, tomatoes, eggplant, sweet and hot peppers, cabbage, coliflower, radishes, cucs, and summer and winter squash. Of course at the moment there is 8" of snow on my plot and it's 25*F, so it will be a few weeks before I get anything planted. I've always admired the gardens of the UK, maybe because my Dad's family came from the UK many many years ago, and I thank you all for the opportunity to learn new things about gardening. Hopfully I will be able to contribute in some way. Happy Gardening
