Hello to all & sundry out thar.
We're in our fourth year of maintaining our kitchen garden and have set up all kinds of structures - raised beds, raspberry canes in cage, greenhouse, compost, etc. A dwarf pear which has been in the ground about a year and is 5ft tall is intended for training into an espalier. It has four branches trained horizontally and we'd like to get some more going higher up. I have read that pruning should be done in winter and summer, but we've forgotten to do any pruning this winter and would like to make a cut above some opposing buds. so our question is - can we prune in spring? ;-) |
