Hello everyone,
I have been lurking for a few weeks and already picked up a few pointers and so I thought I would join this lovely forum.
I am growing large strawberries (the slugs love me

), alpine strawberries (thankfully enough to share), chilis - cayenne and razzamatazz, pumpkins - hooligan (only one so far), a very small rosemary, tomatoes - type unknown except cherry as gifts from two friends, blueberry bushes and late potatoes - maris peer, juliette and something else (the name is buried in the compost). Oh and french beans
I have a miniscule back garden so everything is in pots, growbags or hanging baskets.
So far I've harvested 5 large strawberries, the rest were half eaten by slugs which has put me off them

, a small amount of alpine strawberries (frozen and will be made into icecream) and 4 people's worth of blueberries (yumyum and made into a creamy dessert.
There is a small number of frenchbeans which are earmarked for picking on Monday in a stirfry.
The advantages of being small is that I have been organic this year, I have yet to gather together my courage and squish the slugs (or even beer them to death) but I think the dry weather has kept them mostly in check along with a bit of copper tape. I have kept on top of the main enemy - aphids by daily squishing, although some of them are rather pretty
Next year I would like to plant some rhubarb crowns and gooseberry bushes.
My plan is every year to add to the perennial fruit and veg, become more ruthless with the slugs (and less squeamish about half eaten fruit that I could turn into jam).
So there's me

Nice to meet you all.
