Warm greetings to everyone!
I am in gardening for the second year, inherited lots of land from my father two years ago, together with my brother, since then we are having fun, trying to grow various new plants to see which will do good overhere... As for the fields it is hard as the land it is a bit far away from our house, besides there's not a chance of water supplies,am open to any suggestions on what to grow to succeed in such rough conditions... Wishing you good luck at gardening that year!! |

hi there! you are in a beautiful part of the world i think ( i wish someone would leave me some land there!!!) ... i am not a great gardener myself, but it would help everyone to give you ideas if you could describe the land you have such as windy/sheltered, what type of soil- sandy clay rocky, etc. where it is situated, ie level or on a hill/ i personally would go for raised beds without sides- just a shallow ditch around the edges. if you have buildings with the land i would get in some water butts to collect rain water. and i would grow the things i like most, or the things that are most expensive to buy in the shops. the more delicate or care intensive i would grow at home, and at the feilds i would start out small this year, maybe winter cabbage and leeks, kolrabi root veg. moer experienced gardeners will be able to tell you more. you could get some fruit trees and bushes planted, and i would also if possible fence around the garden area against rabbits. hope this helps alittle bit.

Thank you everyone for your kind words, that really is the best forum,I am here
soo little time, but already learnt a lot!! Weather is turning into bad recently, some places far away from us even had hail today...they lost about 70% of plants...I just hope it won't come here too... Best wishes to all of you!! |

How terrible is this...
People can easily loose the heart to start all over again... Well,at times I think the same...but knowing there will be hails and hard wind in future too,I believe it is good to protect your future plants...sure elder peasants are making jokes on my behalf, but I already saw some making raised beds and protecting their plants with nets this year... |
