Smile Hello everyone from a novice gardener

Hello everyone,

Just wanted to say hi to all on the forum. How do you do?

I joined this forum, as I have recently become interested in plants and gardening. The other night, whilst walking down the aisles of Tesco and bunging the usual potted parsley and basil into my trolley, I had a revelation!! I would like to grow my own!! Think of all the money I would save, and whats better than that deep feeling of satisfaction to know I had actually grown them myself? I was inspired.

Now, I am very new to this gardening malarkey, so much so that I am very proud that I have been able to keep two potted shrubs alive on the balcony outside my flat, and they haven't actually died on me as usual (yes, I am that much of a novice lol). I'm not really sure where to start when growing anything from scratch.

I would love to get to know other avid gardeners - newbies and experts alike and will definately be on the lookout for hints and tips with regards to herbs - culinary and medicinal.

Wish me luck
