Hi everyone,
Not been to plots for almost two years. Partner has been doing it all. Very excited as I should have the chance to get up there most days this coming year. Have chosen my seeds though I can't afford them all yet and have already been very active having just got myself over a ton of lovely well rotted manure (although I need more) and 6 bales of straw and over 50 council bags of leaves on my plots! LOL Just a bit sad today cos I have finally formulated a plan of action for the second plot which consists of totally unworkable clay soil and part of that plan included the use of gypsum which I have already forked out the money for before discovering that it will only aid braking up my clay if I have a 'sodic' soil! Hoping to test for that before the end of the week and I suppose I'm hoping that it is sodic so that the gypsum helps. Anyway, I'm also completely reworking my web site and have added a blog to it and am looking for forums to link to in my link section and got diverted! Great to say hi though and hope that I get a lot of inspiration from this board and add some for some others too ![]() |

Hi Loispallister,
Do you have a allotment association? If you do, contact Kings Seeds,Coggeshall Road, Kelvedon, Essex CO5 9PG. Tel. no 01376 570000 and you should be able to buy seeds direct from them at much lower prices than you pay in the shops. I am just collating our associations orders for this year. |
