Hello all!

I'm Laura, based near Guildford and about to begin my second season of growing veg. I have a small garden plot but was relatively successful last year growing tomatoes, beans, radish, parsnips and a few other bits and bobs.

I don't know many veg growers and most people glaze over with boredom when I try to explain about chitting, soil quality and seedlings (even though they don't mind eating my salads and chutneys!), so hope to share this enthusiasm with like-minded folk!

Hi Laura, and welcome to a great gardening site. Isn't it funny how some folks think of gardening as a boring, old fashoned hobby but just love to eat what comes out of one . Glad to have you with us.

hey I have been growing veg in my garden for 3 years but this year got an allotment cant wait to start the big stuff. Most people dont understand why i love growing veg but thats probably because i'm 21 and most of my friends prefer going out drinking and buying their veg. lol

I started growing veg for a hobby aged 18,still made sure i went out for a drink most nights,am now aged 60.
