Default Hullooooo from the Highlands !!!!!

Ok, not that i got that over with......HELP HELP HELP !!!!!!

Please

Well, i have always wanted to start a small basic herb garden and last Saturday i did, kind off. I was in Tesco and saw there £5 Herb Garden set.

Not quite how i saw myself starting but i thought hey, could be fun. I followed the instructions and seeded on Saturday night, i think i may have over watered, well i maybe expected the airing cupboard to dry the soil at a faster rate, though it hasnt.

Currently seeing the tops of the Basil shooting through.

Any advice guys and girls ?

Thanks

Hi Culloden 100, and welcome. Sorry I can't be much help with your "?" having never done that sort of thing myself, the only advice I can give is to be careful on the watering, make sure your pots get plenty of light and be patient. I've heard some of the herb seeds can take a bit of time to sprout. Good luck!

Hullo alls, back again.

Well the wee window herb garden didnt really work out, think i overdid the heat BUT in the meantime, i have regraveled ma 5x15 metre back garden (2nd part which was just grass and weeds)

After preparing and plasticing the ground i did the stone chips and also put two raised beds in via untreated wood. One has 2 x onions and 2 x spring onions and the other has 2 x leeks and 2 x carrots.

I have 2 flat soil bags ( the ones ya cut the areas out of ) for french beans, 2 different types and i was advised to do them in zigzags, using 5 beans in each and they will support themselves.

I also have about 8-9 pots with various herbs and tomatoes ( 2 types ) growing.............and the potato bag/kit is growing at a monstrous rate.

I bought a nice walkin greenhouse too.

I will post up some pics later and also some specifics on my soils etc......i also used a lot of fresh seaweed that i took from a small remote beach in Skye.

Till later
