Hi guys and girls,
I joined up to pretty much ask this and get started with my garden planning. Basically i have bought a new house with my partner (hurray!) but the garden is north-west facing (boo!) I realise south/west facing would be the most ideal but it is what it is, Looking at my attached image (my plot in red) how much of a problem would it be in summer do you think? If you look there is no obstructions from the east or west or the north, just the 4 houses on the south side with two garages directly left of my house so therefore not as tall shadows created by them, so i realise i wont get loads of sun directly behind the house, and although the scale is hard to tell the garden is longer than the length of the house and is one of these modern 2.5 story jobbies! Am i right in assuming based on that plot the worst times affected would be between about 11-3pm and after that the sun will have come around sufficiently west in summer to get the garden? And am I right in also assuming the best place there for a greenhouse would be the top right of the garden? Many thanks ![]() Ryan |
