Default Hello

Hello everyone I have just joined the forum after being bit by the gardening bug. I have finally got my greenhouse this year, and am currently growing strawberries, blueberries, tomatoes, potatoes, cucumber, peppers, gem lettuce and a variety of herbs. My husband and I have been planning this since moving into our house 7 years ago, and are loving every minute. However, I am a complete newbie, so please bear with me as I ask lots and lots of questions. I am looking forward to learning lots. Bye for now x

Hi Sydney, As you have just got your greenhouseI thought you may like to try growing some winter lettuce in it. Due to weather and light the unheated house in not very productive in the winter.I have however discovered this year 2 lettuce varieties that can be grown in the greenhouse during this period and have bought the seeds to have a go! These are "Winter Gem" and "Wiske". Sowing time is between August and Feb.
