kerberos is on a distinguished road
Default Greetings, strangers

Hello, this is kerberos and since being recently introduced to the home growing hobby, my quest for finding an online community to share and learn started as well. This seems like a great start. Historically, my family always have had a thing for green spaces (we have a large home patio and own a county house), where we grow orange, avocados, apples and tangerines.
Living in the northeast part of Mexico poses a great deal of challenges. The weather is aggressive. He are having a major drought (been about 8 months without significant rain), a constant of 100F+ every single day since late april. On the other hand we had about 10~12F last january that caused a holocaust of non-endemic plants of the region (most people had a variety of ficus trees that were completely wiped out due to cold, really hope a lesson was learned).
Other than helping my dad removing old trees, mowing the lawn or planting new trees, I never had any other experience. So I decided to start a small project in my balcony to grow some chilli. Bought some seeds and planted them. So far they are in some plastic cups and I am planning to move them to the main garden as soon as they grow a bit more and the sun is less harmful. But I am really liking the idea, I mean, there is something so compelling about growing vegetables. I hope I can keep pace, to learn from the seasoned gardeners and lastly have fun.
