Default Hello!

Hi everyone, I am so pleased I have found this forum and the wealth of information on here. I am new to growing my own, my garden has never really been big enough to do it properly but now I have an allotment I can indulge in growing a lot more! I will certainly be on here regularly looking for inspiration and help as now I have my allotment, I look at it and think what on earth do I do now?

Hi Karyn, Glad to hear you have joined the growing band of allotmenteers! Had our plot for 16 years and still going strong. Take it slowly but keep visits regular.Work a small area say 8' x 4' at a time. We have had many new people on our site over the years who are enthusiastic for 2-3 weeks then the time between the visits gets longer and longer the plot gets overgrown, they lose heart and give up. By going to the plot regularly you can keep on top of what you have done and do a bit more new work at the same time. Would suggest a minimum 1/2 day a week is necessary to keep things ticking along. If it would help I could post some pics of our plot.Good luck. Brian
