Hey everyone, hope your all well!
I have joined here because I am searching for the help and generosity of an avid giant vegetable grower here in the UK, specifically Cornwall. I am a natural history photojournalist based in Cornwall and my plan is to follow and document the life of a giant veggie grower throughout an entire season (hopefully through the seeding process and also in competing in competitions and get togethers). I know this might seem like a strange idea but we photographers are a funny breed. I don't want to just get photos of the grower with their giant carrot etc, I want to delve deeper and tell their story and the story of the giant vegetable community. It will be an in depth 'human' story, I do not intend in any way to 'take the mick' or to make it look funny but to try and create intimate pictures and an intimate story. Im starting from stratch here with this idea so any help in getting me in touch with some people within this community would be greatly appreciated. I know there are a few people growing giant veggies in Cornwall and this is where I am based and would be easiest for me to complete this project (especially as I intend it to be a med-long term affair) so if anyone reading this is interested in working with me in Cornwall on this project or knows someone who might be then please get in touch, either reply to this thread or contact me directly on: matt.oxley101@gmail.com. Thanks everyone, Matt |
