Default Given in, Now using Slug Pellets

Slugs are a PITA!!

Just come back from a weeks holiday and all the marigolds we planted are now just stalks, and now the peppers are under attack, so we've decided to use a few pellets and also a couple of traps with beer

The instructions for the pellets say they do not decay after a few swellings, but the slugs prefer moist pellets ?

I guess they will swell after each watering, so a weeks worth of watering will make them swell each time

How often should I topup with pellets?

Is it best to remove old pellets before renewing? or just keep adding?

I know it seems most people don't like using pellets, but with this wet weather in the southeast it seems the easiest option at the moment

I know how you feel I have been trying to be slug pellet free for quite a while but I'm getting desperate now. I did try a product which looked like granules but they were useless. Now I have lost a whole 2 rows of french beans and all my little gem lettuce have disappeared overnight - so needs must.
There are loads of frogs in my pond but they don't seem to be doing their job !
