Colorado Beetle

I found a colorado beetle on one of my potato plants yesterday, and he met an untimely death !! I thought that these had been eradicated ?!! I haven't found anymore, but what are they and what do they do ??

Paul they devastate potato crops and are a notifiable pest. You must report it to the Plant Health And Seed Inspector for your area. Take a look at this link for your local inspector.

South Wales. Near you ??!! Thanks Lesley. I saw a picture of one before and it looks more or less exactly the same as the picture. I have only seen one, and it met with a swift and utimly death !! I will use your link though and will let you know the outcome.
