Pests and Diseases a growing problem

I just wonder what thoughts every one had about pests and diseases.

My granny used to run a peach orchard in Hamilton, NZ. Great lovely peaches. No sprays used or needed.

However anyone who tries to grow peaches today is plagued by leaf curl and more.

Do you feel pests and diseases are getting worse?
