Question Aphids covered in white

I've just been out in the garden having a look at things, & saw some strange aphids - they seem to be covered in a white dusty/scaley substance. They are also moving oddly - they seem to be doing mexican waves.

I don't actually know what plant they are on, but its grown from a pack of mixed wild flower seeds - reasonably tall plant with lots of small yellow flowers, looks a bit like oil seed rape I suppose.

Anyway - here's what they look like.....is it bad news for them, or bad news for me?

I don`t know if they are immature woolly aphids, could be I suppose. No matter, they need to go before they spread.

I didn't burn them in the end....my other half objected so they were liberated into a quiet wild hedgerow

Default Aphid control

Hi,

If you are looking to get rid of aphids using biological control, (rather than burning!), ladybirds are great for the job.

If you are interested in this, please visit Biological Control

I hope this helps
