white bugs

Can any one tell me what the little white fly type things are that are living on my brassicas and are they doing any damage I have a lot of cabbage white butterflies this year same as every one else and i don't know if this is related Any one out there help plzzzzzzzzzz I can only see them when i turn the sprinkler on them or when i cut a cabbage and shake them out

They are whitefly, use an insecticde suitable for edible crops.
