Can any one help, over the years i have been gardening i have had problems with club root in my brassicas, this has been controlled by using a club root dip. This product has now been withdrawn, i am facing the coming winter with virtually no brassicas.
I have always rotated my crops, and have now increased the use of lime in the soil. Is there any product avialiable or any suggestions for the control of this ? |

Best I can suggest is grow all your brassicas on to 3" pots and plant out as semi-mature plants with a good root system. Make the planting hole large and fill with bought in compost and/or sterile soil and hope this gives enough of a start to get a decent crop.
Had club root on one of my old allotments - absolute pain! The stuff lives in the ground for ages. I managed half-decent crops this way... in other words I only lost half the crop - not 90+ percent! Could I remind you that wall flowers are also brassicas, if you grow them, and are therefore also going to be affected. Terry |
