I'm fed up with this now, but we're getting horrible, fat, green slugs all over the kitchen of an evening. Some get into the lounge and I've just seen one sliming its way across the wall in the study, right by where I'm typing.
We can't put anything down to get rid of them because we've got a cat, so does anyone know what we can do, apart from collecting them and eating them? Urgh! Slugs! |

Hi Chris,
How do they get into your house? I have never had a problem with slugs indoors, they are more of a problem outdoors though. Two suggestions, stop them getting in the house or get rid of the cat and get a bird that eats slugs instead ![]() Cheers

Chris if you follow their slim trails you should be able to find the spot where they are getting into the house. Even with a cat you could rig up a beer trap with a saucer on the top to stop the cat getting drunk or grapefruit and orange shells on a board which supposedly they crawl under and in the morning you should have caught a few.

Cats don't like citrus so grapefriut, orange or lemon traps might be the answer. Or get some hens! Though having said that mine are picky - snails yes, slugs no!
If you do go for citrus traps check them very regularly or the horrors will crawl away. |

Cats have the common sense to avoid snail bate and even my dogs are safe with the blue bits apparently you are right about dogs bringing the slugs in. Salt disintigrates slugs if you are loathe to waste your beer. Just depends if you are a sadist like me!
