I've had rats in mine, they dug it all out from under the edges of the bin and made a nice cosy nest in the middle.
Moved the compost bin to another part of the plot and stood it on some wood. On the bad side it p****d me off, but on the plus side, it gave my comost a mix up. You could always set a few rat/mouse traps about baited with chocolate (they like that) if you don't mind the idea of killing them.

Hi carole. I've got an enclosed composter as well. Every time I add to it, I also put in a gallon of water. This makes it too wet for vermin and everything rots down beautifully. Hope this helps. Oh! thanks, Lesley, for your prompt response. (Can't find the "Smiley" bit, yet)
