Arrow Carrot Fly prevention

I was speaking to my Grandad. He had award winning allotments throughout his life and so is thrilled I'm growing my own now too!

He said that I have done really well with my Carrots, especially for a first timer. He said I had done a really good little trick of planting the carrots next to spring onions!

I had no idea but he said that the smell of the onions deters Carrot Fly! Woo hoo! This may be common knowledge but I didn't know so thought I would share!

That's the beauty of companion planting - letting the plants protect one another and do all the work for you!
