Default Help - Tomato Might Have Had It!

Hi, need some advice on one of my tomato tents.

This one contains beefsteak tomatoes.

The plant has grown up steadily but has had curled up leaves throughout the entire process regardless of how I water it. Eventually we started to see a couple of tomatoes forming.

But now the leaves seem to all have a dark mottling as well as being curled.

Wondering if it has some kind of mosaic virus.

Here are some picks:

Hi Ace,
No expert here, but maybe "Tomato Leaf Mould"????? stab in the dark.

Are the small fruits affected in anyway???????

"Rolled" tomato leaves it says in my book,, quote; is usually taken as a good sign if they are dark green. However looking at your pics i think we can eliminate "Leaf Roll"

I am not alot of help really, you need the boss lady, or 1 of the other experts to comment further with a true diagnosis.
cheers stupo.

Hi Ace,
Are the stems affected by dark patches as well?????
If yes, we could be talking the "Dreaded Blight", but like said in last post, no expert here, so only stabs in the dark for now.
Fingers crossed for your plants , cheers stupo.

Hi Ace, I reckon that it could be phosphorous deficiency because of the leaves turning downwards with the purple veins. Anyway I have found an image for you to compare your plant with (scroll down the page) :-

The treatment would be to use a super phosphate fertiliser / feed or bone meal.

Hi Ace

I agree it's a phosphorous deficiency but feeding with bone meal or any other powderd feed to the soil will take forever for the plant to get the nutrient

Try any off the shelf general purpose liquid feed which contains a good level of P (and N & K) and water it on in the evening using a fine rose at the recommended dilution but over the leaves, not just into the soil. This way the plant will absorb the nutrient more quickly.

Hi Claw, the super phosphate feed can be used as a liquid feed aswell.

Vitax super phosphate 1 25KG
