What about ANTS?

Hi folks, maybe a silly question but ive noticed hundreds of ants in and around my vegetable plot lately, especially around my chilli pepper plants. They seem to do know harm but should i be doing something to send them packing?

Hi GMB27, i would like to know what people think about ants too, but i think they are ok, we have lots to around our veg garden but i dont think they are doing any harm.

Our little wildflower front garden is full of ants and rather than being any trouble, I've noticed they are actually beneficial in that, like worms, they live in burrows in the soil and help break the soil and dead vegetation up. But I suppose if they haven't got enough food from rotting vegetation etc, they'll start eating the vegetables?

You have to watch out though for increased greenfly activity. Ants keep them as pets and 'farm them' - seriously!
