Default Crystals on Sweet Bell Pepper Plant

Found this strange crystal deposit on the Sweet Bell Pepper leaves recently. Anyone know what it is?

There should be a picture visible in the post above.

Here is a link if you can't see it.

looks like aphids, they seems to find chillies and peppers irresistible.

spray with a mix of a 2-3 ml washing up liquid to a litre of water, leave for a while then rinse off...don't do this in direct sunlight because it might burn the leaves.

Really, is that all the wash up liquid that's needed? Only a few hours ago I sprayed about 10mls to 1/2 litre so it was nice and foamy. Opps.

And does it matter if one doesn't rinse off afterwards?

Ali.

yep, that's all i use and it seems to kill the vast majority of them. i suppose it propably depends on the brand of washing up liquid in question, but as a rule, too week is better than too strong.

i figure that if it's all washed off this will further minimise the chances of damaging the plant, not strictly necessary but i like to be sure
