Default Requiring your expertise to save my batch

Hello VG

This is kerberos asking for your help. About a month ago I decided that no matter how late in the year was, here in Mexico we got a killer weather (see what i did there) all year round and was determined to grow chilli, especifically, the so-called ghost chilli. So I bought some seeds and proceeded to plant them. Surprisingly enough, most of the plants germinated succesfully within a week and I had a decent batch of candidates. It's been less than a month (may 20) and they are in great size according to my former expectations.

Unfortunately, while watering this afternoon, the unthinkable happened. I found some leaves to exhibit some holes. So far a couple of plants are presenting this condition. Some are like holes, some other look bites/munchies. One of the leaves had some black rounded thingies (I debate if thats the problem or is the waste of what is causing the problem).

As a context info, the plants are getting good water and sun, however, they are not near the garden itself (now all of them are placed in the second floor, a terrace), there is an orange tree nearby that had a similar or pretty much the same problem a few years back until my dad nuke the hell out of it with a strong pesticide that he cannot remember at this point.

I really thank you in advance.

PS Here are some pics, to help clarify my previous explanation.

PICTAAARS !!
(1) The plant looks chewed,
(2) and burned.
(3) What in the hell ....
(4) are those black rounded dots ?

hi kerberos, and welcome to the site

the first 2 pics look like scortch, don't leave drops of water on the leaves, they will act like magnifying glasses in the sun.

not sure about the black dots, don't mean to sound patronising but they look alot like small particals of soil which will have been splashed on the lower leaves when you watered them.

Thanks for the reply (and your welcoming message). I also thought it was soil, but after a closer inspection it looked different, maybe it was nothing. But there is no rest for my plants, this morning I noticed some leaves were infected with a new different kind of pest, which after some reasearch turns out is "leaf miners", pretty disgusting.

Is there any (home depot-esque) recommended pesticide for those buggers ?

Finally, thanks for the advice on water drops on leaves, being a n00btard in gardening these type of advices are highly appreciated. Have a nice day y'all.

no worries, we all have to start somewhere

not sure about pesticides for leaf miners, i like to keep my veg chemical free, but if you squash them before they drop to the ground you can put a stop to their life cycle.

Yeah, I was about to take the chemical way but the dorks at home depot didn't have any; so I read more about it just to reach to the conclusion that there is almost nothing to do about these pests, perhaps they only would've coughed and laughed at any pesticide. After reading some solutions with onions and garlic and whatnot, I only discarded all the infected leaves until there was none, and keep doing that (yeah I know) a few days later and so far those bugs have not returned to lay more eggs on my plants. Some plants lost "full grown" leaves but that's the price I had to pay.
