Red face Novice gardener - Netting my vegetable

Hello all

I am a novice gardener and I have been trying how to decide how to protect my Brassicas. I have seen comments about using debris/scaffolding netting which I quite like to look off. I am currently trying to decide on the width I should purchase.

I am aware of the need to make sure the netting does not touch the plants otherwise the butterflys can lay the eggs directly onto the leaves (and thus cause disaster!) so I want to ensure my height for my tunnel is tall enough.

I can't seem to find out how tall my veg will grow too to enable me to work out my height. Maybe it is on the seed packet but I don't have them to hand as currently at work and want to order my stuff today. The netting comes in 2m or 3m widths. What are people's opinion?

I am also about to get some of the blue water pipe, anyone know if the currently cheapest place to get it?

Regards

L

Default Good netting

Everyone on our allotment uses this stuff obtainable on ebay.
It's fine enough to keep of butterflies, has good UV resistance and
lasts well in the sun and is a nice 4m width which allows a good clearance height for the tallest brassicas (probably sprouts at about a metre). Very good price compared to garden centres too.

10M x 4M Commercial Garden Netting - FINE MESH - STRONG | eBay

Hope the link works.
