Default Spring Onions

Hi,

I planted some spring onions a few months ago (March/April) and they have come on great - most of them are over a foot or more above the ground.

Now here's my question, I'm thinking of picking some of them, should I?

If so what do I do after that? Wash them? cold or hot? how best to store?

Thanks
Jim

pick them when you need them, give them a rinse and eat. leave them in the ground and they will jsut get bigger, once pulled within a week they tend to go limp and rubbery.

you could pickle some. I pickled spring onions and add them to stir frys and stuff.

I picked one and it was fine - good size too. I have a good few spring onion, they took off in the garden. Only thing is that every so often the leafs go brown and they look like they are going to die and then they come back healthy again. Very strange.
