I think feedback on the products is probably best posted on this thread to keep everything together.

Well i gave my edging knife a good old try today lol done a side boarder in my back garden....... erm never reviewed a product before.......... don't really know what im doing or what to say............tra la la la.....ba du ba du ba du lol

Right yeah it was pretty good, exactly what i was expecting tbh pretty straight lines (could easily be perfectly straight it it wasn't me doing them ) a lot better than i would have been able to do with my spade.
Was impressed with how easy it cleaned, soil just wipes off the stainless steal without any effort.
As for durability that's going to have to wait, felt pretty good using it but aint really going to know until iv had it a while.
Anything else you want to know Gemma? sorry if this isn't the sort of thing your looking for but meh lol
Peace out!? lol

Hiya

I have received my edging knife as well, will probably give it a go some time over the next week or so. However, my husband was well impressed with it and said that it was quite a good quality one and looked more expensive that what it actually is....................and he's not a gardener!!!!

You never know, he may catch the bug! not!

The Job

The Tool

The Finished Border

Found the Edging Knife comfortable to use, the shaft wasn`t too long or too short. The blade cut through some quite dense clumps of grass with ease. If I were to nit pick, I would say the blade needs to be a better fit on the shaft, it`s fairly loose on the one I was given, but, all in all. For a fraction under £8.50 it is as good as similar tools at twice the price.

Well I finally took the opportunity to use the edging knife on the front lawn, it needed doing badly, but anyway a review of the product!

A nice ergonomic handle and shaft with a stainless steel blade. The blade and mount appear to be made of three sections welded together, with the welds ground down, which could cause a weak point, however on the implement i recieved the welds appear strong.
The blade also has a nicely folded top edge of sufficient width to allow easy use and no discomfornt to the ball of the foot.
The stainless steel used for the blade, appears heavy industrial guage and has a nice ring when tapped. It is attached to the shaft whith a clout type rivet.
The overall weight of the edging knife is very comfortable, making it easy to use, enough weight to aid in cutting through tough grass rootballs, but not so heavy as to be unwieldly.
The handle is attached to the shaft with a wooden dowel which was a little proud but did not give any discomfort.

I would be interested to know what the shaft and handle have been treated with in case further applications should be necessary.

In use the knife did everything I needed, quickly and simply, (my modified spade will now be retired)!

I was quite surprised at the retail price of just over £8.00, and having compared (Visually) this product with others offered for sale in other retail outlets, for around the same, or slightly more expensive price range, I would be more than happy to recommend this product for its value for money, ease of use and construction.

Kind regards Mark

They are not so much raised as terraced, Potty. That veg plot covers 650 sq m. Where I did the trial is a 45 tree orchard, which I also look after.
