Not the religiouse type, but something is nibbling holes in my pepper plant, it is not the slimeys, so what can it be. Any ideas?

No there's nothing under the leaves LJ, but I will spray and see in a couple of days. Why do we bother when all the odds are always stacked against us, better to go to the supermarket and get what you want, straight away. Just having a bitch, as when I returned from the week-end, my temporary greenhouse with all my beautiful hanging basket fushia's in it, blew down in the storms, and it is a sorry sight. Oh well back to the drawing board.

Commiserations Runnerbean. I lost the top of one of my pepper plants completely severed through. It was in a glass fronted shed with the door shut so not a bird attack. Then I noticed there was a slime trail over the courgette in the pot next to it. I hate using pellets and have so far been using coffee grounds but seeing that was the last straw, I am afraid I purchased some pellets yesterday and now it is all out war on our slimey friends. Like Lesley I do hope you are able to salvage something of your greenhouse and fuschias.

Thanks Moyra, in the cold light of day, it wasn't as bad as I feared, I managed to take some cuttings, of some of them and I saved about 7 out of 12, but if the cuttings take, I should be alright for next year, some of them are nearly ten years old, and I have collected them from all over the country, especially when I go on holiday, then every Spring I remove about 3 inches of old compost fill up with new, feed and give them lots of TLC, and they reward me all summer long, but not to worry, I will carry on regardless, there are worse things to contend with. Have you tried copper wire around pots etc., it is very good at keeping the slimeys at bay, and only sprinkle a few slug pellets around as some people scatter loads, and all it does is attract every slug and snail for miles around. Happy Gradening!
