Spread them out on some kitchen paper to dry out, then put them in an envelope labelled with what they are. Store them in a cool dry place, then sow next Spring

Yup It is with Peppers & Chillis anyway. Things like peas & beans you have to leave on the plant to dry out, but peppers & chillis are fine so long as the fruit was ripe. We save seeds from any peppers & chillis we buy in the shops and most grow!

I have got 3 habanero and 3 Thai (birds eye?) chilli plants growing in the greenhouse. All came from seed I saved from chillies I bought in tesco to cook with.

I also have 15 Joe's long plants in there as well. Yup, I love chillies.

Cheers

some seed needs a period in the freezer and some seed need a good wash with fairy liqiud to remove the anti germination coating

all seed will grow that is what they do but the problem with saving seed is that they may be from a commercial strain that responds to a specific set of conditions to grow well or they may be from an f1 strain that will not come true in the next generation
that said it is a lot of fun and can save you money
