Default What sort of tomatoes

Hi everyone

A few weeks ago my sister gave me some tomato plants which are now growing in a growbag in my back garden. If they are vine tomatoes I understand that you have to do some pruning as they grow : unfortunately I don't know how to tell whether they are vine, cherry or some other sort of tomato, and my sister can't remember1

Is there an easy way of telling (perhaps from the shape of the leaves) what sort of tomato I'm growing

Thank you

Chris

Chris what do the plants look like? With indeterminate varieties you have a main stem which grows about 6 foot and the side branches stick out from this main stem. The flowers and fruit form on trusses that grow from the leaf axils on the main stem. Side shoots that need removing also grow from the leaf axils.

Determinate varieties grow like bushes to about 3 foot tall and the side branches grow upwards with flowers at the end of the branches. So they look like a dwarf bush covered in tomatoes.

Have the plants started flowering and where are the flowers forming?

There is a picture on this thread of Martin's tumbling cherry tomato plants with the flowers on the end of the branches.

knobbly courgettes?
