Default Ripening a whole truss

How do I get a whole truss of tomatoes to ripen together?
I have some really big trusses, 15 or more, but they are all at different stages. I usually get one large ripe one and the rest go down gradually in size. The first one ripens and is ready to come off before the smaller ones have reached full size. Is there a secret that I haven't been privvy to?

Wendy.

That is the natural way that tomatoes ripen Wendy. Pick the really ripe ones off each truss as they are ready.

The 'on the vine' tomatoes that the supermarkets sell are cut off the plant still green and are ripened unnaturally by being gassed with ethylene and they turn orange / red whilst in the packaging.

Thanks Lesley. I thought as much, but wanted to be sure there were no secrets behind this gardening lark. I must know everything. I'm too inquisitive for my own good, some have even called me nosey.
