Default Potato Storage

Hi

I am new to veg gardening managed to grow a good crop of potato, I have been eating my way through them but then I belive got some blight. Took the tops off and left them in the ground. I have now found blight in a few so looking at digging all up, what is the best way to store them.

The standard method of storing potatoes is to put them in hessian sacks in a cool (3-6 C is ideal) dry place. Only put dry potatoes free from cuts. abrasions, 'holes', in the sacks and check on them every few weeks, in case any are starting to rot. Assuming you don't use them all up they should keep until March/April next year.

best way for how to store potato is by keeping them in a cool dark place.you can also put them in a large brown grocery paper bag. do not keep them in a plastic bag for long as it will get rotten.

Default Right storage of potatoes

Properly dried and stored potatoes should keep well for three to six months and keep all usefull vitamins and mineral.
A potato storage room must be completely dark and have good ventilation.
A temperature of about 4ºC (39ºF) is best.

You can usually pick them up for free at a pet food store or agricultural supplies store, many of the peanuts etc. arrive in them and the sacks just get binned.

Hi Greengirl, I bought mine from Thompson & Morgan quite a few years ago. Here's a link:-

Don't even think of storing due to the blight. They will rot quickly in storage. Use them as quickly as possible.

hay, you want to store tomato for this purpose you freeze it in its original shape. if you don't do that you will make the paste of it and store it. if you dehydration it than you can also freeze.
