Question Last autumn spud crop - still edible?

Hi,

Last year i didn't get round to harvesting my potato sacks due to a death in the family that kept me very busy. I have been in the garden today having a spring clean and have been emptying all my spud bags ready to put the new chitted spuds in and found loads of potatoes.

They still feel firm and only a couple have sprouted. Would these still be edible or not. They look ok but i don't want to poison my family.

I'd really like your advice if you're sure of the answer.

Kindest regards
Leanne

Leanne, if they are still firm, and not green, then they should be fine for use. Any soft or greenish ones, discard.

Thanks David, looks like i have a surprise crop of potatoes then. I cut one in half and it had a beautiful creamy coloured centre, the flesh was perfect.
