Default Warming soil, its growing mold?!

Hi Guys,

This is my first post as i am a new user.

Following the book i have i have covered over my 4 raised veggie patches with a plastic sheet to warm the soil before sowing in April.

I dressed the top with chicken poo pellets before. The soil has started to grow mold and a bit of moss under the sheet. Is this normal? When can i start sowing?

Good evening and welcome to the site. What`s causing the problem are the chicken pellets. Don`t worry too much about it, there shouldn`t be a problem.

I put chicken manure pellets down a couple of weeks ago, prior to planting out.
Left it about a week to let it break down, raked them in and planted.

Just hope the snow stays away!!

cheers Mark
