You sound just like me the other day when I found some teeny courgettes on my plants. Here is the picture I took of them.

In my case I know they are potential courgettes waiting to flower and be pollinated. Did you have a yellow flower on that larger cucumber, has it fallen off? If so then maybe it is polinated, if not then it's a potential cucumber waiting for pollination

Default it's great

Like you I'm new to all this and can't believe how excited I am when things appear. The rain yesterday suddenly brought up the spring onions and I have a few courgettes coming and lettuces. It's brill!

Still no sign of the parsnips I planted tho but only planted them on 26th May as had to wait for lawn to be taken up. Guess it's too late to plant any more.

Patience!!! Parsnips can take up to 4 weeks before the seeds germinate.

It's really great isn't it Tammy?? I still get excited when seeds start to germinate and the female flowers appear on my courgette plants!!

I asked you about the cucumber variety just incase it was one that needed the male flowers removing - which it doesn't! (Very occasionally the all female varieties can produce a male flower. If you do spot a male flower remove it.)

Wow lucky you. My flowers are drying up, and no blueberries Do you have more than one blueberry bush? I heard you need at least two for a good crop. I could only get one, went back for another but sold out, oh well nevermind.

Hi NTT, You are quite right that you need more than one blueberry plant. Some varieties are self sterile so they must be pollinated by a different variety of blueberry. It could be that your flowers were simply not pollinated. Are you growing your blueberry bush in a container and did you use ericaceous compost to pot it up? Also blueberries ideally want watering with rain water.

I couldn't bring the ericaceous soil back with the buggy and all when I bought it, so planted it in the ground, but did buy sulphate of ammonia to sprinkle around it if it didn't look too happy. Haven't done this yet, should really try that. Haven't been good with the rain water, am using tap water when I do water, although not so much watering going on here at the moment with all this rain , what's going on with the weather? My husband still hasn't fitted the water butt unfortunately, it's been hanging around the garden since last Summer!
