Unhappy HELP! tomato problem

Hi there, just been looking at my outdoor beefsteak tomatoes and come across one that seems to have either mold or something else eating away at the stem, can someone give me a clue as to what it is and if i can help save the plant or is it a gonner??

The rest of the plant looks healthy and is starting to sprout flowers now

They look to me very much like root nodes. Just keep an eye on it for now, but keep us posted.
