Unhappy Shooting Bok Choi!

I am growing Bok Choi this year for the first time and it has all shot instead of all the leaves being all together.

It still tastes lovely but would have liked to have braised some whole.

How do I stop it from shooting?

Hi Lisa, the problem with Pak Choi and Boc Choi bolting like that is down to the cold weather that we have been cursed with this year. Hang on and wait until the weather warms up in a few weeks and then sow the Boc Choi again.

They recommend that you sow bok choi late in the season so it doesn't bolt. I have however got 6 very nice plants maturing as we speak.

Did you sow the seeds direct into your garden? I've heard that they can resent being transplanted and bolt. just another though.

Well to be honest I cheated. Lol. I bought plants, I didn't grow them from seed. Despite them bolting they taste lovely.
